FVIS is WCS's terminology for an umbrella system that includes a suite of cameras to inspect a range of rolling stock components using machine vision techniques.
FVIS is a modular suite, sharing common components, that includes imaging equipment for couplers & yokes, bearing end caps, bogie side imaging, draft-packs and undercarriage inspection.
The different modules can be installed as individual stand-alone systems or combined into a single system suite depending on an as-needs basis.
This module uses high definition digital images to capture key components of the Vehicle Body and bogie side-frame. The Side View module uses sophisticated machine-vision algorithms to analyse the images, then measure and identify broken or missing components such as:- Broken or missing springs
This module uses high definition digital images to capture key components of the under carriage for analysis. Specific machine vision algorithms analyse different components for presence and dimensions, such as:
- Misaligned and damaged draft pack
- Damaged under carriage and axles
- Missing coupler retainer plate bolts.
